The story of the Amazing Birds Big Wave Challenge begins many years ago with a rivalry between two bird brothers. Both were very talented surfers, older brother said that speed is the most important thing, while the younger brother said that tricks and performance were more important. The two brothers competed, over and over again, riding the waves with spectacular talents. Many birds from all different tribes came to watch the two brothers in the feats of speed and skill. Everyone who saw the brothers on the waves was impressed with their abilities.
Suddenly, a huge wave appeared and swept the two brothers away, never to be seen again! Although the birds searched and searched, no trace of the two surfing brothers has ever been found.
Today, the six tribes of Amazing Birds come together in a competition remembering the Big Wave and the events of that day. Only the best bird from each tribe is chosen to compete in these surfing battles, but hundreds and thousands of birds come to watch this amazing event! Who will win this year’s Amazing Birds Big Wave Challenge?
Each tribe has focused on a different part of the Amazing Birds Big Wave Challenge. The Tumpukane birds believe that the Big Wave must be appeased, by a show of stylish surfing tricks. The Kiribati think that the ritual competition between all six tribes is what makes this an important event. The Baja Baja say that the Big Wave is most honored with a display of speed, and they build special technology to become the fastest surfers around. The Tokelau like to discuss the history of this event, and speculate on the winners. And the Tuvalu are just here to party!

To get speed simply press and hold your finger on the screen when surfing down the wave and release when going up the wave. Feel free to perform surfing tricks as many as you like, but remember, that there is a hungry shark on your tail, waiting for big bite, so don’t be to slow either!
